This summer I have volunteered to be part of a team heading to Africa in August, specifically to the nation of Kenya

Kenya is one of the nations that was hit by the AIDS pandemic, leaving it with many AIDS orphans. with widespread poverty, medical care is in very short supply, and many cases go untreated.

Our mission is to be an agent of hope and healing to many in this nation, working alongside an orphanage in their efforts to bring lasting change to Kenya. On the mission, we'll be reaching out in the following ways:

Orphans - I will be part of a small team with big faith to impact the lives of future African leaders: the children. The team will spend time with orphans at the GCC orphanage in Nairobi. There are 36 children, 24 girls and 12 boys, ranging in age from 1-17. GCC also runs the GCC HIV/AIDS Extension which has 19 children, 11 girls and 8 boys, ages 3-12. The team’s work of service will be spending time with orphans, encouraging, teaching, playing sports and games, and imparting a sense of destiny to these treasured ones.

Supplies - Providing much needed supplies to the severely underserved population
